The Parks and Recreation Department is all recreation, all the time. We are passionate about our Town parks and facilities and committed to providing innovative and age-appropriate programming that connects with each and every community member to promote healthy and active lifestyles.
The Department proudly provides the following services:
Due to overwhelming interest in our Olympic Curling Event last Saturday night, the Mammoth Ice Rink will be hosting ANOTHER FREE Olympic Curling Clinic and Match Play on Sunday, February 18 at 7 p.m. Register at the Mammoth Ice Rink, or by calling (760) 965-3695. Due to unseasonably warm temperatures, the Mammoth Ice Rink has transitioned to a spring operating schedule. Adult Drop-in Hockey sessions on Sunday morning (9-11am) have been canceled until further notice.

Sierra Mountain Guides is now offering classes at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center!
- The Backcountry Touring Program is a one-day course available on Wednesdays beginning January 31 through April 18. Rates are available with or without equipment provided.
- The Avalanche awareness course is offered twice. When registering choose between ( CANCELED: February 3) or March 10, 2018. This course will be from 5:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center. All ages are welcome!
- All of the programs offered by SMG is a one-day course.
- Register online or at the Town Offices.
Registration is now open for the FREE program designed to introduce the sport of Basketball to children in first and second grade. Meeting on Thursdays from February 1 through March 15 at 5:15 to 6:15 at the Mammoth Middle School Gym. Introduce this sport to your children and prepare for next year’s Hot Shot Basketball program. Registration is required.
Toddler time takes place on Tuesdays at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center. Each 4-week session is $48, sibling and drop-in rates available.
Peapod Playgroups will resume at the Mammoth Community Center on February 15, 2018. Connect with parents and children in your area. All Mono County expecting parents and families with children birth to five are invited to participate.
