Final Redline Public Review Draft TSMP (September 2011)

The Final (Redline) Public Review Draft TSMP was published in September 2011. It is based on the February 2009 Draft Master Plan, with a series of minor technical changes and updates. The Planning Commission and Town Council will consider this Draft of the TSMP at Public Hearings scheduled in late September and October 2011. Please refer to the Agendas and Minutes section of the website for staff reports and other relevant materials that will be presented at public hearings.

February 2009 Draft TSMP

The public review Draft Trails System Master Plan was released in February 2009. It includes the Master Plan itself, as well as series of appendices.

Sherwin Area Recreation Master Plan (SHARP)

The SHARP was published in November 2009, and reflects the results of a seven-month collaborative process involving Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access (MLTPA), the US Forest Service, the Town, and a broad cross-section of interested stakeholders, known as the Sherwin Working Group (SWG). SHARP identifies potential summer and winter trails and recreation projects in the Sherwin Area, south of the Town's Urban Growth Boundary. Since publication of SHARP, the SHARP Trails Technical Committee has been working to refine the recommendations of the SHARP document.

Draft Trails System Master Plan EIR

Work on the Environmental Impact Report for the TSMP EIR began in July 2010. The EIR will consider the environmental effects of implementing the Master Plan, including the Soft Surface Trails Concept, and the Sherwin Area Recreation Plan (SHARP), which is the result of more focused planning that evolved from the Sherwin Area Trails Special Study. The Town received a generous grant from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy to complete the EIR, and is working with PCR Services Corporation as the CEQA consultant. Public documents related to the EIR will be posted below as they are available.
