The NEW SKI8 program further develops ski racing techniques through a cross-training system on the ice, which then translates onto the hill. The SKI8 program is built on a progressive battery of drills covering each of the fundamental skills in skiing which are intended to develop balance, edging, pressure, speed, rotary skills and strength. By working toward mastering on-ice drills, skiers will acquire the necessary fundamentals to gain speed on the race course.
Classes are scheduled for 30 minute instruction time + 30 minute individual practice time. Skaters will learn skills as a group and will then progress and practice at individual levels all while being challenged and motivated.
DAY/TIME: Every Wednesday from 4:30–5:30pm. Program commences Jan. 6 and ends Feb. 24, 2016.
COST: $41 for 8 sessions ($5/session) or $10 drop-in per session. Both these products are available for purchase at the Mammoth Ice Rink. Product requires adult signature on waiver for participants under 18 years of age.
