Youth Programming

Welcome!

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the majority of summer programming indefinitely. This includes camps, lessons, leagues and tournaments. For more information, click here. We appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time.

Following the release of Day Camp Guidelines by the California Department of Public Health, the Town of Mammoth Lakes is offering the following camps during Summer 2020:

The following programming is still being offered by some of our recreation partners during Summer 2020:

Staff continue to work on producing programming alternatives, such as virtual summer camps, scavenger hunts and modified activities. Stay tuned for announcements throughout the summer! And check out our Mammoth Parks N. Rec Facebook page for some great ’quarantivity’ ideas!

We offer a variety of youth programming throughout the year for locals and visitors alike.

Join Coach Kinsey for introduction to gymnastics classes at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center. These structured, beginner level classes focus on basic gymnastics skills such as forward rolls, backwards rolls, cartwheels, handstands and bridges, as well as other gross and fine motor skills. Students will be introduced to several apparatuses (including bars, balance beam, floor and vault) and improve coordination, agility, balance, strength and flexibility. Classes are scheduled for 6-week sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings throughout the year.

An intermediate class is scheduled on Wednesday evenings for students who are able to perform a cartwheel, handstand, pullover and bridge kickover.
